Using HomeOutlay

By using homeoutlay.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The calculators are free for personal and professional use.

Estimates, not professional advice

Every result on HomeOutlay is an estimate. Calculations rely on the numbers you enter and on general assumptions, such as typical paint coverage, bag yields, waste factors and average US retail prices. Real quantities and costs depend on your site, the products you choose, local prices, labor and conditions we can't see.

• Results do not replace advice from a licensed contractor, engineer, electrician or other qualified professional.
• Results do not account for your local building codes, permits, HOA rules or manufacturer instructions. Always check those before you build.
• Always confirm quantities and prices with your supplier before buying, and buy a little extra where it makes sense.
• Structural, electrical, gas and roofing work can be dangerous. Hire a professional when in doubt.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep the math and the guides accurate, but we don't guarantee that results are complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, HomeOutlay is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its results, including over- or under-buying materials, project delays or cost overruns. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (for the free site, zero).

Your use of the site

Please don't misuse the site: no scraping at a rate that slows it down, no attempts to break its security, and no copying of the guides or design to republish as your own. Linking to any page, including links with your own calculator values, is welcome.

Content and trademarks

The text, design, code and logo of HomeOutlay belong to us. Product and brand names mentioned in guides belong to their owners and are used only for reference.

Ads and links

The site shows ads and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content, products or practices of advertisers or linked sites.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
